♦ What precautions should be taken in the event of a fire in a building?
• If you notice a fire, activate your building's fire alarm. If there is no alarm, shout "fire" loudly. 
• Never use the lift. Use the stairs to exit. 
• To protect yourself from smoke, cover your nose and mouth with a wet cloth.
• If you are trapped and cannot find a safe exit, close all doors and windows and seal all gaps with wet clothes.
• If your clothes catch fire, roll on the ground or cover yourself with a thick cloth to extinguish the flames and wait until rescue workers arrive. 

♦ There are many different hazardous situations both inside and outside the school, at home or in our daily lives. What are the main safety measures to overcome these situations?
1. Understand personal safety.
2. Be aware of cyber safety.
3. Follow traffic rules.
4. Gain knowledge on dealing with accidents and emergencies.
5. Train to minimise losses during disasters.
6. Practise cleanliness.
7. Engage in open communication.

• Flood
• Lightning
• Earthquakes
• Tsunamis
• Landslides

♦ What precautions should be taken to protect from lightning?
• Avoid using electrical devices during lightning. Disconnect power connections.
• Close windows and doors. Do not stand or sit near them.
• Stay inside a building, avoid touching walls or floor.
• Do not play in open areas or terraces.
• Avoid travelling in open vehicles.

♦ Imagine an unexpected earthquake occurred in your area. What precautions would you take?
• Don't panic and stay calm.
• If going outside, find an open area.
• Bend down under a sturdy table or desk, cover your head with one hand. Use the other hand to hold onto the leg of the table or desk. If no such objects are available, protect your head and neck with your hands.
• Stay away from objects that might fall.
• If travelling in a vehicle, avoid bridges and tunnels. Park the vehicle in a
safe spot.

♦ What precautions do you take during heavy rain and strong winds?
• Stay inside
Close windows and doors
• Unplug electrical items
• Keep a torch ready
• Avoid tall trees and electric poles
• Wear a raincoat or carry an umbrella
• Listen to elders

♦ What are the warning signs in the given traffic signs?

• Walk carefully along the road.
• Walk on the right side of the road or use the pavement.
• Use a subway, zebra crossing, or footbridge to cross the road.
• Avoid crossing the road where drivers cannot see you.
• Do not cross roads in unlit areas during the night.
• Do not jump over dividers or divider rails.
• Avoid crossing roads between parked vehicles.
• Children should seek help from elders while crossing the road.
• Do not use roads for exercise.
• Wait for the vehicle that is dropping off passengers to leave before crossing the road.

♦ What are the Road Safety – General Guidelines?  
• Always wear a seatbelt/helmet while driving. Avoid using mobile phones.
• Do not drive after consuming alcohol or intoxicant drugs.
• Avoid overspeed.
• Pay attention to pedestrians, especially children and elderly people.
• Do not drive when feeling sleepy or tired.
• Maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
• While driving at night, avoid using high beams that could disturb the driver of the vehicle from the opposite direction. (Use dim lights)
